By far the worse car ever leased. It has from 6 months of age till now @ 1.5 years been into the dealership for a total of 42 days, not including days where I dropped off and picked up the same day, due to part failures like battery or the power window.
Dealer gives you a ford Focus as a rental- that after arguing with them that I need a replace ment.
VW Customer Service takes no ownership of that problems with the vehicle and states "we will stay within the limits of our contract and warranty."
Told to be one of the safest cars on the road... my wife had to push this car off the freeway during rush hour traffic with my infant in the back seat... not so safe... oh it was a computer glitch is what they told us... took 2 weeks to replace the computer.
VW corporate doesn't care that the car has sent my wife into false labor when the AC failed in July in Pheonix... well it must be an old car... it was 1 year.
My wife chooses to drive our 1996 Toyota corolla with 156000 miles on it over this vehicle. Its more reliable... and I agree with her.
I have to say ditto on everything said, and then some! This is the worst car I have ever owned! Spent more time in the shop than on the road!
Yeah, you have to watch those holes in the floor! They appear from nowhere!
I have more than 6 months with this car and I have already had the car in the dealer more than five times with up 6 days staying at the shop. This car is the worsest car anyone can buy.. They sell you a car like this only to make money when you have to take it to them to take the engine light off..
I have a Mercedes SL and the check engine light would come on. The code may be a miss or emissions related. I now disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset the computer which turns off the check engine light. I use injector cleaner regularly and the check engine problem is resolved.
All of you who have had these problems with this car, you must all have gotten lemons. I have an 06 Luxury edition, and I have only had one problem so far, and I bought it used with 22,000 miles on it. Something with the transmission, I think the valve or something, had to be updated, and after that, I have not had a single problem with this car. And it was covered under warranty. The inside buttons tend to peel, but the dealership replaces them everytime I go in for routine maintenance. Very solid car. You guys got lemons. Sorry.
