1993 Volkswagen Passat GLX review from North America
"I love the chassis and powertrain, but hate the interior quality"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought the car with a leaking heater core.
The sunroof leaks.
Miscellanous interior components fell off.
Oil sending unit leaked.
Rear wheel bearing failed.
General comments?
Performance and feel is similar to a BMW, but it lacks the name. I often reach 90 mph when passing other vehicles. The engine and powertrain are up to typical German standards.
The interior components are equal to a 10 year old American sedan. I am not satisfied with the quality here.
I use it as a 170 mile per day commuter so I appreciate the comfort and performance level of this vehicle.
This vehicle lacked any maintenance before I recieved it so I cannot give an accurate evaluation of its reliability. However, my previous VW exceeded 200,000 before it had any problems.
