1991 Volkswagen Passat GL review from Germany
"No Mercedes, but a comfortable and reliable car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Exhaust pipe needed replacement,
fuel gauge and temperature gauge did not work,
smokes for a couple of seconds when started after a couple of days standing,
sealing between black rubber part and tin of the door let water in. So corrosion started there.
General comments?
Spacious car with firm, but comfortable riding.
A little bit too loud when speed is higher then 120km/h.
Easy to handle.
It takes only 10.5 meter diameter for a full turn.
Slightly uncomfortable position of the steering wheel.
