Check engine light came on 3 days after purchase.
Axel, CV joints and entire front end assembly fell apart while making a left turn 3 months after purchase.
Days after having a 40,000 mile check up
the water pump went out.
Now the transmission is gone. I took it to the dealer 3 times reporting
the problem, but they told me nothing was wrong. Now the transmission is gone.
Volkswagen offers the worse customer service.
They do not honor their warranties. They discourage and overcharge customers.
I agree. Volkswagen has not made a good car since they stopped making the original bug during the 70's.
I have a 99 passat with an oil leak that has been "fixed" 5 times in one year. This is a crazy car to work on. People will not work on my car. Tell me what can I do? ardray.howard@comcast.net.
I don't know what are you people talking about I had 2 of 99 and 98 passats and I love the car. I bought 99 passat when it had 98,000 miles and drove it for 25000 miles only doing oil changes on it. now I have a 98 passat bought it with the same milege drove it already for 30000 miles doing only the basic maintenance's and performance upgrades, so right now my passat pushes out 20psi of boost on stock turbo chipped and gets to 145m/h very fast (goes further, but I'm afraid to take the chances...)
