"Great car, other than faulty sensor problems"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Well, to start off, the check engine

light came on at about 40,000 miles.

Took it to the VW dealer and said

nothing was wrong. So we left it. One

summer day I was trying to leave for work and the car would not start. It would only start when it would be cool outside and not in the sun. Did this a couple other times. Long story short we had to get basically a whole new dash board and now I don't have my gear display in the information center there anymore. It has come off and on, but the car still runs fine. As of now it is on. The dealers don't really know why it does this...

Few other problems. The drivers door sensor does not work. The lights don't come on whenever you open the door, the lights on signal doesn't chime if you open the door with the lights on, and when you unlock the car and get in the drivers door only, it locks back up after about a minute because it doesn't know the door has been open. That is a bit annoying I thought. Also the rear wiper washer doesn't work either. Never has ever since we got the car and the dealers never got to fixing it either.

General comments?

Other than those problems, I love this car. It's great in comfort, quickness, and the 4 motion works great. I had to get through 6 inches of snow on the road yesterday. It felt good to see the other cars struggling and I'm getting along just fine ha ha. But yeah I love this car... other than those problems we've had.

Update: The VW has just started leaking anti freeze not to long ago. Just little drops until the other day in the snow I saw a heaping puddle of pink under the car. And also the temp. gauge was messed up and I'm thinking that may be why, but I'm not sure yet. It's going in for it's 80,000 mile check up next week.
