1980 Volkswagen Polo review from UK and Ireland
"Cheap, slow, yellow and good crack"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rusted. A lot. A two week re-spray job held it back for a good two months.
Needs regular tuning or the performance drops to new lows.
Driver's side seat works through.
New brake discs at 45,000 miles.
New door handles and suspension strut at 45,000 miles.
General comments?
Despite the obvious drawbacks of a 21 year old 900cc car, this thing is brilliant. It cost £350, and had only one previous owner and 25,000 miles on the clock. Winner.
It needs fixing every now and again, but this costs very little. Apart from the usual electrical and tuning problems with old cars, it's been bullet proof.
