Engine EPC Warning within 6 Weeks.
Ignition Switch Failure
Required replacement.
EPC Warning constantly illuminated, each time computor had to be rebooted by dealer.
Eventually Computer Replaced.
EPC warning still has problems.
All stop lights Failed, Brake light switch malfunction.
EPC Still failing.
Apart from the many faults, I like the car to drive. It is responsive, and motors well on the motorway or around town.
The interior is pleasant, and roomy, but the drivers seat is not that comfortable.
2000 SE 1.4 Polo automatic has broken down five times with ignition failure and brake sensor relay faulty. EPC light comes on regularly. Car has only done 25,000 miles and has not proved reliable. The faulty brake relay means you cannot engage the automatic gearbox and the car has to be loaded onto a vehicle and taken to dealers. Dealer says fault is common, but VW have yet to provide a solution. Work has been carried out FOC by dealer.
