1988 Volkswagen Polo C review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I've owned since new and do my own oil/electrics servicing.
40,000mls - new headlamp switch.
85,000mls - new silencer. The original looked good as new but the weld broke.
92,000mls - new water pump (repaired by independent dealer for £70).
General comments?
It's a bit rudimentary but it is very reliable - it always starts immediately and still feels quite solid with few rattles.
The paintwork is starting to go along the sills - mainly from stone chips.
Heartily recommended for cheap, dependable transport.
