1999 Volkswagen Polo S SDI review from UK and Ireland
"Since buyinh the car I have had expensive problems from day one!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced brake discs and pads, screaching sound can still be heard around front wheels.
Components in car are weak and easily broken, e.g. gloe compartment, drinks holder, poor design.
Electric windows main problem, drivers side regulator and motor burnt out. 3 months later passenger side motor and regulator burnt out. After that (!) windows had a mind of their own, both kept opening after locking the car. Toof car to Volkswagen, advised to apply WD40 in lock. Day later both windows motor and regulator burnt out. Total cost=£1000 to fix!!!
General comments?
Do not buy this car, maybe because its standard I have encountered problems. Genuine parts are expensive. Good engine, but that is it. Very expensive and too much hassle. Buy Honda or Toyota!
