1988 Volkswagen Scirocco Scala review from UK and Ireland

The only thing that went wrong was the distributor got stuck, so tuning was out!

Need a new rear box (back)

Seat began to ware from the wire under it

Both seats wouldn't lift as the cable went, they decided to both go in the same week.

Engine fade (pump or carb issue)

I got this car to replace my old one.

I had the old one for a few years, and forgot about the lovely ride you don't get while in the wet, They both did not rust or have any. and my older one floated (found that out in the floods!)

but they are BAD in the shallow puddles

The mileage out of it was great, £5 would take me to London and back (190 miles)

On the old one the engine would fade, I never did narrow down what the problem was.

The last car was a right-offs (I own a garage so not a issue) just changed the back axle.

Both car got rear ended, but rote-off the other cars and scratched my paint. the heavy duty rear bumper is great!

The engine did click a bit, but it had been standing for some time, they had a full body kit which was color coded and alloys to match.

These are really good cars apart from the wet driving, great on fuel and a nice drive as well.

I got a Laguna now : (I miss the Sirocco as the engine is powerful.

The gear box could have been better.
