Excessive tyre wear (correct tyre pressures vital!)
Crack wood door inserts.
Transfer box changed under warranty.
Handbrake not releasing warning repeatedly.
Temperature gauge shows no reading regularly.
Dealer cannot diagnose above fault.
Comfortable workhorse.
Reasonable fuel economy.
Good interior space.
Reasonable torque.
Noisy engine.
I too have a 2004 Touareg. So far my problems as the same as those listed...
* Handbrake assist / release beeping repeatedly
* Excessive wear on tyre's i.e. 6 months
* Drive shaft replaced due to collapse of centre bushing
* Excessive charges for parts e.g. €60 wiper blades €700 for drive shaft, €700 for wing mirror
* Now transfer box giving problems.
The mileage is 81k on a 2004 model and the parts. While I really enjoy my vehicle I feel people should research the cost of parts before purchasing one.
