2005 Volkswagen Touran SE review from UK and Ireland
"I must have a rouge one"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 8000 miles the emmissions light came on, took it to a VW garage who said a solenoid was playing up and would be replaced under warranty. Then the shock came, the aircon condenser had a hole in it and this was not covered by warranty and would cost £575 to fix.
Now this condenser looks like a radiator and is fitted behind the front grille. Below the bumper are large air scoops and the condensor unit can be seen directly behind these scoops, so when stones are flicked up they head straigt for the unit and soon a hole appears.
This is a design error, but try telling VW that. so unless I find £575 no aircon, in the mean time the alarm has started to go off when it feels like it.
General comments?
The goods points.
Very quick for a 1.9 TDI and 55mpg is very good indeed. The seats are very comfortable.
