Exhaust gas from the pre heater is sucked back in to the interior via the demister fan when in stationary traffic.

Passenger door lock will not open most days on first attempt.

Rear number plate lights have failed twice due to corrosion inside the light fitting.

Rust appearing around rear number plate lights (the body is meant to be galvanised?)

Fault warning most days on start up "airbag + pre tensioners"

The car eats tyres - not even 18,000 on rear set, front set wears very quickly and unevenly.

Door trim surface starting to come off from interior handle - it appears to be a thin coat on top of normal plastic.

The paintwork appears to be very soft - hand washed, but loads of light scoring appearing (tornado red)

Very comfortable, loads of room, nice high seating position. some front visibility problems on right turns due to design of front pillars.

On high seat setting you catch the adjuster when you get out and slowly lower your way to the low setting over about a week!

Nice light interior (grey trim)

Good engine - 50 mpg usually.

Quiet on long runs.

Vw service costs very high - eg £50 for oil at one and only vw service.

I get mine serviced now at local garage using vw parts to keep warrantry valid - service + 2 new tyres for the same price as vw basic service.

I don't like the 2 height tailgate - too low even on high setting. vw don't have a one height tail strut so they say.

Vw dealer did not appear too imterested in customer care and were not happy when I mentioned this in a vw customer care phonecall after the first service.
