1972 Volkswagen Type III review from North America
"Volkswagen's best car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only expensive repair was to replace CV joints. These needed to be maintained, and I was unaware of it. Had I regreased them regularly, they would have lasted. They were VERY easy to replace though.
I also had a leaky fuel injector.
General comments?
I liked everything about the Squareback. It had a spacious trunk up front, nice cargo room in back, and comfortable seats. It was quicker, and got better gas mileage than my previous Beetles. I really miss the air cooled VWs.
