Fuel lines needed replacing.
New bucket seats ($300), old ones wore out.
Needed body work, car rusted fairly badly through
time.
Clutch starting to show its age.
For the era this car came from it has some good speed, cornering not so much.
Strong body, I got hit by a 4X4 and did no damage to me, but bent his whole bumper in.
Easy to work on.
Very simple controls.
Gas mileage is terrible, although I knew they used to get 20+ miles to the gallon, I am at 10-12.
I've had a bad gas mileage experience with my 1966 122S Wagon. Turns out because the gas filler neck is set low and I haven't been able to find a gas cap that seals properly, gas spills from the tank during cornering. Very Frustrating.
Check your fuel lines for leakage around every rubber joint.
(the other comment about the gas cap is also a good point)
The B18 and B20 get upwards of 25mpg even on the lower geared 122 wagon. Poor mileage on an otherwise good running engine (no smoke) usually means a leak.
