1969 Volvo 140 142 s review from North America
"If you want dependability, get this car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Transmission mount, twice.
Basic maintenance, oil changes, air filter
belts, hoses, ect.
The car looks like crap, well aged.
General comments?
This car I bought for delivery use, put 50,000 hard miles on the car in less than a year. It took it with just oil changes every 10,000 miles.
Loud as a willy's jeep in motion, it screams through blizzards at 50 miles per hour (no bull). She has never let me down. Slow, loud, pretty low fuel economy, this has taken 2 and a half years of hard use and still to this day starts as easily as it would brand new. For a 34 year old car, it has exceeded any expectations, and has surprised all who have seen this car in action. Being the engine needs a top bottom rebuild, and every body panel has at least one dent. I bought a '79 244 with B21/f with hopes to rebuild the car that has served me well above and beyond any vehicle, period. Off road, on road, always pushing the car to it's limits, through 4 sets of tires, excessive amounts of gas, and oil, this car never failed to deliver it's best, every time.
