1983 Volvo 240 GL review from Malaysia
"A highly reliable car in terms of performance and mainly safety"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine seal leaked but was able to repace it. Found the car's engine to be trembling constantly and it affects the comfort and otherwise perfect handling. Power steering gives out a loud howling sound and wasn't able to be rectifed even by the franchised Volvo service centre.
General comments?
Smooth and powerful car. Was able to keep up with a German car on the highway (though our max speed is 110 kph on the highway). I was able to get the car up to 187 kph.
I got myself into an accident but came out unhurt and the car undented. I was stopping at the lights when a local car came fast from behind and banged into me at a high speed. My Volvo 240 came out victorious, unlike the local car which was badly damaged (bumper, lights, bonnet and engine smashed). THANK YOU VOLVO. For my review of my 740 please refer.
