1984 Volvo 240 DL Wagon review from North America
"A solid nice driving car for $1,200"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The camshaft seal popped out and I lost a lot of oil.
The drive shaft vibrates at certain speeds.
General comments?
I was able to repair the oil leak by reinstalling the seal.
This car has heavy duty anti roll bars
and handles very well for it's weight.
This car was purchased new by an elderly gentleman who drove it from Nevada to Chicago on a regular basis. He sold it to my brother with 320,000 miles.
It still has the original paint and looks very well for it's age and mileage.
I drive this car 52 miles round trip to work and back. I live at 4,700' and drive up a mountain road to the 7000' summit and down to 6000' where I work and repeat the same route. This car feels very safe and reliable overall.
