Rear wheels worn out in 50,000 miles.
This car is seriously quick off the traffic lights. However only BMW can beat it.
I am not sure if the reviewer was actually reviewing the right car. I had the pleasure (?) of owning one of these tanks and although it was supposedly safe the handling could be "evil" in wet weather and the cart springs at the back meant that you bounced over speed humps rather than drove over them. However it was better than sitting on a smelly bus/train. The only Bimmer however this tank would outrun would be one which had broken down.
I learned to drive in one of these and then drove it for the next 5 years. I have to say that 'sports' and 'performance' are not words I would usually apply in a positive sense to this car!
It had interesting handling traits due to it being rear wheel drive, and it was always a challenge to set up nice drifts on deserted roundabouts.
The car was woefully underpowered though, any car which can fit the spare wheel in the engine bay is obviously lacking in cubic muscle, and the handling and performance meant that it was a perfect car for an over exuberant 17 year old to tool about it - It would never go quick enough to kill me on impact!
My 340 diesel Is nice and slow
I am very satisfied
After 18 years still going well!
I am not a runner, I am not in a hurry
