1987 Volvo 340 GLE review from UK and Ireland
"Still going strong after 16 years and almost 190,000 miles"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Looking at records speedometer has been replaced TWICE.
Apart from that no major problems beyond usual servicing, fair wear and tear etc.
Starter motor seems a bit dodgy, but always starts.
General comments?
V good - I acquired car from parents who owned it since 1990 and it always starts first time even on the coldest day or when its been left on the road for three weeks without being used.
V unlikely to be stolen.
Helps one keep to speed limits on motorway and thus avoid fines.
Seats very comfortable.
Nice touch in rear seat handrest allowing long items to be poked through.
Styling is good - mine even takes in irony by having a spoiler
