1989 Volvo 440 GLE review from UK and Ireland
"Has stood the test of time well in design"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Alternator replaced 96000.
Front disks 97000.
Handbrake cable 97000.
Drivers seat belt 120000.
Display illumination went 95000.
Rear brake pads 97000 (first replacements)
Two exhaust systems during ownership.
General comments?
Who ever owned it previously got rid of it at the right time as lots of thing seem to fail around 95000 (others I've spoken to confirm this) But after the initial expense on repairs has been OK. Lot of minor electrical problems and now rusting in door seams and rear wheel arches.
