1989 Volvo 440 Turbo from Latvia - Comments

8th Feb 2004, 10:42

"Volvo - for life!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing special: new radiator, exhaust system (due to the corrosion), safety belt and speedometer at 123,000. Now I have no problems.

General comments?

This car is very reliable, comfortable, safe and fast.

May be design is a bit old fashioned, but this car looks very beautiful in white color (also white bumpers), with "17" wheels and a spoiler. Beautiful sport interior and a lot of "extras" inside. This is one of the safest cars in it's class. Engine and turbo works wonderfully. And the sound of acceleration is fantastic, especially with sport exhaust in my car. I've won tuned BMW 320 coupe (e36), Honda Prelude, BMW 525 (e34) and others. People started to get jealous:)! It has 120 hp + 40 hp (chip) + 30 hp (filter + "spider"). The greatest car for this money with no technical problems!

I have a volvo 440 turbo that I have mods to,

I ve chiped it, put the 850 t5r turbo and actuator on it, bored it out to a 2 ltr, lightend balanced fly wheel, tripple racing clutch with all up rated pullies and cams to,

Max power has quoted my car at 350 bhp and I can well believe it to.

I have lowered it to 35mm all round and put a set of TSW 205/35/17s on it and now it handles like a train.

I also have full window tint to a limo black and awaiting a sprayjob of Dark blue met with purple perlesant.

I also want to buy Volvo 440 turbo, but I'm considering about economy. How about a fuel consumption? Hom many liters it takes for 100 km?
