1989 Volvo 440 GLT review from Sweden
"A very reliable machine!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The central lock failed to lock all the doors at 20.000 Km
The drivers electric window failed - all opened in the middle of the winter - at 60.000 Km
The switch with adjusts the right mirror stopped working at 75.000 Km
Change of shock absorbers at 80.000 Km
Back window and mirrors defrost failed at 110.000 Km.
General comments?
From the first time I drove the car, I was impressed from the torture it gives.
The comfort and the inside ergonomy is something amazing. Starting from the seats which are "backet" continuing to all elekctric staff (mirrors, seats heating), full digital instrument panel and many many more.
Another strong point of the car is the little petrol that it needs while dring in normal conditions. Of curse the things dramatically changing when you like to push it.
The only bad point of the car all these years is that it has little space for the back passengers...
