1995 Volvo 440 S review from UK and Ireland
"Unfairly maligned and much misunderstood super-car!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing yet - I have only just purchased it!
The horn doesn't work, which is seemingly a common issue, as my parents have a 1994 480 ES with the same problem. Apparently it's to do with the contacts warping under the steering wheel cover.
General comments?
Having previously owned a 340 GLE, it is great to be the proud owner of a Volvo again! For the past 18 months I have been driving a Renault Megane as a company car and I have to say that for a brand new car it has been hopelessly unreliable and I have been quite glad to give it back.
To slide back in to those huge comfy Volvo seats and not have my head touching the roof-lining. All the controls being in exactly the right place. The heated seats, electric everything.. just a few of the many pleasures..
Who cares if the image is non-existent and the styling is somewhat dubious.
Until you have driven a Volvo you just don't understand!!!
