1988 Volvo 740 GLE review from UK and Ireland

Only just got car, no problems.

I already own a 740gl estate (1987) and cannot fault it, it is quite superb, i have owned it for 5 years and it has never let me down, it is in mint condition and I do sometimes worry about parking it in rough areas, this is why I have bought another one!.

I spotted the one I have just bought on the web, it is a 740gle 2.3 auto estate, it is not in as good as my other one, but it has no rust (as usual) and is in good condition, the main reason I bought it was because it was £450!!.It has 6 months m.o.t and 7 months tax (worth £100).It has a black leather interior, which is just so comfortable, a lovely smooth auto box, the usual easy power steering and although it isn`t in as good as cond as other, i have fell in love with it instantly and it is more comfortable than my cloth int volvo. It has 212000 miles on the clock, but this does not bother me, any other car, this would be a worry. The volvo 7 & 2 series are without question the best that volvo has ever produced, the new volvo v70`s look great and perform, but I strongly believe that the 2 & 7 series are a better build quality, esp now that ford has taken over volvo cars ltd. I would strongly recomend this car to anyone who wants a lot of car for little money, i`ve just read a 740 review on the net, guy is moaning because he had to change water pump at 369000 miles!!,what more can I say, hail volvo.
