1988 Volvo 740 GLE review from North America
"One of the best cars ever built!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The things that have gone wrong are:
Muffler pipe from manifold cracked
Headliner droopy, was ripped out
Interior light bulbs - several went
power window (passenger side - front)
breaks squeal, typical Volvo problem
overdrive relay faulty
thermostat broke, causing no heat
a/c fan motor bearing gone.
General comments?
Nice reliable car overall.
Decent pickup and performance for a 4.
Very good body, hardly any rust at 16!
Motor and transmission very solid.
The only bad points are: muffler, breaks, electrical system and interior trim.
This car is the most reliable that I have ever owned.
