1991 Volvo 740 review from Germany
"Wouldn't trade it in until it drops to bits and I do a Fred Flintstone impression"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
New water pump needed 2005.
New ignition barrel 2006.
New handbrake cable in 2004.
New fuel pump 2005.
Various exhaust parts every year since the original packed up in 1997.
General comments?
I have had this car from new since 1991.A total of 15 years.
It is only now showing signs of giving up the ghost, but has never let me down.
I bought it in Germany, as a Canadian spec car and paid for it in American dollars!! (work that one out).
Still drives well, a bit sluggish on acceleration and groans a bit under power steering.
Can't complain when I watch all the berks at "home base" struggling to get their purchases in the back of their little BMW's.
