1995 Volvo 850 T-5R review from North America
"Coolest car I have ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I bought this car it was 1) not very well taken care of and 2) subjected to a hot climate.
It needed a complete suspension rebuild, ($2000+ to repair in parts)
Due to 12 years in Arizona the engine wiring was frayed and shorting out (replaced $250)
For some reason the stock 1995 ECU does not provide full boost or allow to downshift when it should (replaced with the 96 ecu out of my former 850 R, now gives full 11psi boost and downshifts when its floored)
General comments?
Fast, safe and one of the most beautiful boxy cars on the road... Plus it's a rare yellow! I purchased it for $2800 in march of 07, it not perfect, but 5k later into the car in misc parts (performance and maintance) its everything I wanted in my dream car since my brother brought one of these yellow t-5r's home from work (volvo dealer) in 1995.
