1997 Volvo 850 R review from North America
"Best car I've ever owned!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?

General comments?
This car is fantastic. Now, I should point out that I own the R sation wagon model with certain modifications that gives the engine a strong 262hp. When you get used to the fact that the gas pedal on Volvo's are as hard and even harder than break pedals on most cars, you really get to enjoy the engine (and strong transmission). Once you've pressed the pedal all the way down and the Turbo gets the 262hp going Man! you gotta watch out for speeding tickets. The gears on this car are very long so 140mph is an easy target. (I only tried the engine once and got scared)
Comfort is also a strong point. I travel a lot and you really never get tired of this car's interior. And the Wood panel on the dash board is very interesting.
Security is also a strong point, you feel it when you're driving the car.
I've red on other people's review that this car ''eats'' tires. Well, I really don't agree, since I bought the car, I can't even say that the treading as gone down and I have Pirelli Assymetrico. Maybe the R suspension is smoother on tires, I don't know.
