1994 Volvo 960 review from North America
"For the price, you get quite a bit of car with this model."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air conditioner bellows in dash went out ($600 at dealer).
The right front door speaker and speaker cover came apart. I taped the speaker in place and super-glued the cover back on. It's low-tech, but it works.
The electrical system has a short in it somewhere, which makes the radio switch off every couple of weeks. It's a minor irritation, and of course, the short never happens when I have the car at the shop.
A few of the small plastic fixtures in the interior of the car have come loose or broken off. Again, a minor irritant.
The battery had to be replaced at about 50,000 miles (50 bucks at auto parts store).
A piece of metal trim on the front passenger door fell off. It's a little unsightly, but no big deal.
General comments?
Car is very reliable mechanically, but I have experienced several minor non-mechanical irritiations, as noted above.
The engine has plenty of power. Not sluggish at all.
The interior is very spacious and comfortable. The trunk is huge. It's a great car for road trips because you can haul a LOT of stuff.
