1999 Volvo C70 HT Turbo review from North America
"Stay away from Volvo-Bad reliability"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Oil seals have been checked by 2 dealers. Although under warranty, each dealer charged me $100 to investigate what was going on (car made pinging noise when idling).
Seats rock back and forth when braking or accelerating.
Various warning lights come on and off at different times making you wonder, "Is my brake system failing (gasp) or is it just a lights thing?"
Power Seats and windows are so slow that people actually make fun of it when they get into my car.
Power windows rub-- Dealer has tried to fix it twice now (actuator motor went out once.. they still rub)
Oxygen Sensor went out at 45,000 miles. Dealer replaced under warranty (thank God, that was a $1500 service). There are two sensors (from what I was told). They both went bad.
Steering wheel makes rubbing noise when turning (more pronounced when cold outside).
General comments?
I love the looks of this car and the fact that you don't see them around too often.
Also, the stereo is great, as are the seats.
However, the dismal reliability have completely soured me on Volvo as I promise myself to never buy one again (lease one for 3 years if you want one).
