2003 Volvo S60 D5 SE from UK and Ireland - Comments

20th Jan 2007, 15:08

"After 3 years this car still feels the same as when it was delivered its a solid car."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing major or anything that needed to be done outside of normal servicing. Minor gripe the automatic dimming rear view mirror had a software upgrade as it was not dimming enough for my liking I had to pay for this as it was not considered to be a fault.

General comments?

Loads of power from the 2.4 D5 engine and fantastic fuel economy unless your right foot is planted to the floor.

Best seats in the world. A comfortable and rewarding drive. Some comments have been made about the poor turning circle and its true, but it does not spoil the experience. It is not the only car in the world with this particular issue.

Rear legroom not great, but OK for kids.

If you like music the SE has an incredible Dolby Pro Logic surround sound system.

Due to the massive torque the D5 eats front tyres or maybe its my driving style? My journey to work is mainly down country lanes this must contribute to the tyre wear.

Gesh! The car is only 4 years old- it SHOULD be just like new in my book!!!

I have the same car, same age. I drove 75,000 miles in it last year. Yes 75,000! I agree, excellent economy and yes, it goes through tyres rather fast. I like it! Comfy for long drives.

I have the same model too. Have overall been very pleased with it. Agree the turning circle is poor. Agree the rear legroom is tight. The car is an excellent motorway cruiser, and has superb interior comfort, but comes unstuck on country roads. Its chassis and suspension are not BMW 5-Series standard, unfortunately.
