2002 Volvo V40 review from North America
"Great bargain in the near luxury market"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
None
General comments?
The car is surprisngly nimble and responsive for only having a 160 horsepower 4 cynlinder 1.9 liter turbor charged engine. Acceleration is responsive, but the car drives more like a small car than a performance one.
The cabin is very quite and the sound system is excellent. The seats are very comfortable, and the back has enough leg room for 2 adults to ride comfortably on short rides. There is not enough back seat room for adults to ride in back on long trips.
The car appears (and sounds) very solid, and inspires confident driving even in poor weather.
