1998 Volvo V40 Si review from UK and Ireland
"I've had my moneys worth and will buy another volvo"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have a problem with squeaky brakes...I've changed the disc's and pads all round, but they still squeal even when not under load???
I had one occaision where the engine was 'miss-firing', it turned out to be a loose coil leads and was easily fixed at no cost.
This V40 has 160,00 miles on the clock and still purrs like a kitten.
Saftey, reliability, and with the 2 litre engine in sports mode.. it shifts.
I will be buying another volvo.
Dashboard bulbs have gone, but they were very easily replaced.
For a car with this mileage, I think it's a belter!
General comments?
This car accelerates smoothly and I always leave the traffic lights with confidence...
In sports mode, the engine revvs higher, giving that bit of extra umf.
Its really comfortable.. the stereo is capable and above all, it handles like the big, powerfull tank it claims to be.
In all... I've had my moneys worth.
