2004 Volvo V70 review from North America
"The best wagon you can buy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Steering fluid had to be replaced somewhat early, but was cheap and dealer completed the job very quickly. Otherwise nothing, the car has been spotless.
General comments?
A truly capable wagon. Deceivingly quick, supremely comfortable (more comfortable than the Mercedes-Benz E320 Wagon I own), and extraordinarily practical.
Handling is less than sporty, but not overly light or floaty.
Build quality is excellent, although a few bits and pieces do feel a little cheap.
I cannot stress enough how comfortable this car is -- the front seats are the best I've ever sat in. 3rd row of seats are an excellent option, really practical for those who only occasionally need the extra space.
I was somewhat skeptical about buying another Volvo -- the first one I had in the 70's caught fire, and I had always heard they were quite expensive to repair -- but do not regret it at all. Reliability has been on par with the two Honda's I've owned. Everyday I love this car just as much as they day I bought it. I would recommend this car to anyone.
