Transmission problems at 90,000 miles
Brake pads every 2,000 miles
struts replaced at 92,000 miles
both front axles replaced at 93,000 miles
transmission clunks when placed into gear.
The car glides on the freeway
however, it cost a lot for that smooth ride
The seats are very uncomfortable
The car lacks in space
The back seats have no leg room
However, the stereo Rocks!
I find this review to be in complete opposition to my experience with a 2001 V70. Brake pads every 2000 miles? Seats are uncomfortable? Not enough space??? You've got to be kidding me! I'm thinking one of three things: 1) You don't really own a V70 and you're making this up, 2) You are extremely hard on your vehicle, or 3) Your car was previously involved in a collision that has affected your running gear (wheels/axles/trans). I have an '01 V70 with 60K and it has been absolutely flawless. My current set of brake pads have 20,000 miles on them and they still have 3/8-in of material remaining. Your transmission "clunking" is probably due to the neutral shift function (your car automatically shifts to neutral when you are at a stop, then shifts into 1st gear upon depressing the accelerator - that's the "clunk" you are experiencing, and it's normal).
Ironically, the only thing I DON'T like about this car is the stereo. So I think our experiences are polar opposites...:)
