2005 Volvo V70 D5 SE review from UK and Ireland

No. 5 Injector ejected from the engine spitting fuel all over the engine bay and under the car.

I assume this would be failure of the mechanism that holds the injector in place. It seems to be a rare occasion as a friend of mine who works on the Police volvos says in all his time there he has not come across this problem and they generally are a good car and stand up well to the thrashing those boys in blue do.

Still volvo say they will have the car back to me in 48 hours and its all under warranty.

Turbo on this model 185bhp is quite savage making the car skittish as compared to my other car a 5 series diesel.

Gearing is a bit strange as the reves in 6th gear are a bit high considering the power increase I think volvo must not have tweeked with the auto box ratios. Similar in power to 525d output, but 525 output is 500rpm lower than D5 in 6th gear. so quieter and better economy. I guess the extra cylinder makes the difference in torque ratios.

2.4td is right engine for volvo really don't need more than that it is quick enough and very good economy.

Cabin is very roomy spacious and comfortable, it is a car ou can do long jouneys in safley. Defintely need the SE spec with leather if you have kids, plenty of room in the rear for luggage

odds and ends and the kitchen sink!
