2001 Volvo V70 review from North America
"Get a second hand one and save money for the dealer fees"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Car sound system system. The lightning went off and on for 500 miles when the odometer was reading 49,000 approx. When I took it to the dealer for an inspection and fix, they told me that it had to be replaced for a new unit. Cost of the new unit: $550!!!...I told the dealer how is possible Volvo charges $550 for a HiFi radio system when a Pioneer double din model only cost $250 and does everything better than a Volvo unit and more (graphic equalizer, detachable face, multicolor spectrum, XM radio, etc.) Answer: sorry, Volvo units are expensive, but unfortunately not better. I decided do not replace the HiFi system unit, and one day after, it started to work perfectly and with no problem for the next two thousand miles, so, was the dealer (the one in Falls Church, VA) trying to take advantage of this situation with this V70?
General comments?
Good driving, boring interior, rear seat space is small, good acceleration, beautiful exterior design, high gas consuption, dealer fees very high.
