1989 Yugo Koral review from Serbia
"The best compromise for price/reliability!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Heater valve broke up at about 55000.
Fuel pump started leaking at about 75000.
Main brake cylinder (normally) failed around 80000.
Water pump had broke up at 83000, but partially by my mistake.
Alternator / starter (notmally) failed at 85000. It needed only cleaning and a change of brushes!
General comments?
It is a great car - endurable and ultra reliable!
Gas consumption under average adjusted engine (with the use of recomended 98 octane fuel) is 8L/100km (city) and about 6.5L/100km (freeway).
Do not "play" with other grade of gas - it drastically increases wear!
Little bit noisy on freeway. It is good for short and medium distance trips.
Just follow the manufacturer`s recomendations and the car promises many miles and long life!
