"Low cost, some minor problems"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I bought a 2002 Sentra about 2 years ago (at 36K miles), and has the following problems:

Service Engine Soon Light has been on since day one I bought the car. Tried to retightened the gas tank cap, and disconnected the battery, it didn’t solve the problem. My friend ran the diagnostic code, and found it is the problem with emission control. I didn’t fix it, and the car runs fine.

Original tires failed earlier.

The trunk couldn’t be opened with the switch at the front. It was a minor mechanical problem, fixed by myself.

Hot or cooling air doesn’t come out from right locations.

Sticky gas pedal. Thanks for the information posted in this website. Following the info, I cleaned the throttle body with throttle body cleaner, the problem has gone.

Car was sent to Dealer for two recalls, the crank position sensor and ECU lining material.

General comments?

In my case, it didn’t create big problem. It is a cheaper car, low cost with some minor problems. Gas mileage is good: 28 – 30 miles/g on local (depending Winter or Summer) and 36 miles/g on highway. The gas mileage is the average for over 15K miles, and it is accurate. It is risky running on highway on windy weather, and you fill that it would be blown away.

I bought a Nissan Sentra 2003 a month ago and have Service Engine Soon Light on and I cannot open the trunk using the front switch. it seems it is generic problem of Nissan Sentra. You told you could fix the trunk opening issue, how did you fix it?
