2001 Isuzu Rodeo from North America - Comments

"My Isuzu has been nothing but a money pit and I will never purchase another."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

They gas gauge quit working at 45,000 miles. When it took it to get an estimate on repairs I was told the the Oxygen sensor was bad and that it would be $850,00 for repairs.

The transmission began to have a shutter in it at 69800 mile. But, before I could get it serviced the warranty ran out at 70,000.

The ABS light continues to come on and off.

There have been several times that the radio and windshield wiper would not come on. We think that it might be an electrical problem.

Finally, It has been parked in the garage the last 5 month because it blew a rod at 74,000 miles. I cannot afford to keep it on the road and have resorted to driving my mother 1995 minivan.

General comments?

I only which I could afford to keep it on the road.

I like how it handles.

I feel that the seats are comfortable compared to a lot of the midsize SUV's.

Will never buy another Isuzu and will make that suggestion to anyone that considers to buy one.

I bought the car used and the warranty would not cover anything.

First of all an oxygen sensor doesn't cost 850 thousand dollars. Seriously though, it should not be anywhere near 850 bucks to replace those. Secondly, why in the heck did you wait until after your warranty expired to get your transmission taken care of? That one is lesson learned I guess.

My 95 rodeo has 301, 000 miles on it, I drive pretty rough, and it's still going strong. i'd imagine your tranny is automatic, I've never seen a Japanese manual tranny go, and I am rough on my vehicles.
