"500 pounds lighter, and 25 more hp, and it's perfect"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

A/c recharged annually.

Rebuilt carburetor twice.

Just replaced the original g.m. muffler.

Major tune up this year.

Repainted (again) this year.

Light metallic blue fades quickly in this climate.

General comments?

This adds to my original comment "best car I ever owned" that I left almost four years ago.

Still own and drive the delta 88 daily.

Still a comfortable, safe, stylish ride.

Fisher body on chassis still in good shape,

thanks to good maintenance and frequent repaints.

Mechanically still hard running, and

dependable.

Iron block hard to beat. imports with

aluminum blocks and parts can be badly

damaged by overheating.

Still enjoy driving the car.

"and 25 more hp, and it's perfect"

- Put in a 455. That'll make it more than perfect!

It's really not that heavy. It's not much heavier than an average midsize 60's musclecar would be that everyone seems to drool over. This is the downsized version, it's not bad. You want lighter and you get the crappy front wheel drive Cutlass Calais that came out in 1985.
