"more problems than a 15 year old car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Noise in steering when in lock

Noise in suspension when doing 90-110km/h

All Brake discs needed refacing (shuddering)

Noises in Exhaust

Air Con Doesn't work properly

Noises in diff

Noise in gearbox when changing gears.

General comments?

Exellent car to drive, but so many things going wrong with these ba's, 6 people I know have had major problems with their ba's far worse than mine.

A mate had 3 gearboxes a 1 diff replaced within 1 year (xr6 turbo ute),

Another mate had new head and head gasket replaced after 800km on the clock and had only had it for 1 day from new, after he wrote to ford about the problem they didn't want to know. He now has transmission fluid in his radiator and coolant in his gearbox car has done 30,000kms (blueprint ba xr6).

Hi agree with you on the BA are crap, but they arn't bad considering when it was a clean sheet of paper, with these problem goggle motorsm and they tell you on what other problems people had with their motor cars including the bas and people reply on how to fix it! you would be amazed on how simple these problem are a quick fix and a good preventative! I'm a ford person and I got a nice EL falcon and it has done 165000 kms very happy I want to sell it and buy a BF mk 2. hang on to your BA and you might be happy! remember those bloody ea's they are good now because all the problem have been solved! I Would never buy a first model car unless it was a japanese, but still they have their fair share of problems just hang on to the ba and get some independent advise they can be more help than ford! I know how to tell you how to fix these problems on the BA to much to list lol I know just by going on to motorsm I hope that give you a little help and your friends!

Hello; I agree and know exactly where you are coming from. I had a late 2004 BA mk2 XR6, and it was the worst car I have ever owned. Front brakes machined twice, replaced diff because of noise, (which still leaked once fixed), handbrake shoes, trim creak, suspension creak and noisy cams (which sounded like a diesel), transmission heated up when driving making the car lag and sometimes would slip, (which Ford claimed was fine), faulty fuel gauge and the list goes on.

I sold it cheap because I didn't want this to happen again after owning it for only 1 year. In my opinion; sell it while it's half together and cut your losses.
