"Giving this car a chance.."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Our family has owned nothing, but Nissan for the past 10 years or so. Well, hubby traded in our Maxima for the Nissan 350, then I decided to trade in our Altima. Being a family of 6, we definitely need a larger vehicle. I went to the Nissan, test drove the Murano, which was too small for us, then I saw the Rendezvous. Great! 3 row seating, nice interior and low miles (44,000).

I regret that I didn't research this car until it was too late. I haven't had any problems out of the car yet, but I fear it is coming. Lately, I've been looking on some websites just to see how reviews have been about this car and I'm frightened. The other day I noticed the temp gauge was above normal. I do live up on a hill, and after going up the hill is when I notice it starts to flutter above normal.

However, the reviews on this car doesn't give me peace of mind. I have a trip to VA in the next couple of weeks, an 8 hour drive, and I'm hoping this car doesn't put me out on the side of the road. I did get the warranty from the dealership. I'm going to take it in and have them look at it before I take off. I'll be praying all the way down.

General comments?

I have the same issue with my Rendezvous 2002. I had it to the dealer last summer and they changed out the temperature gauge. It has now started doing it again, (in the warmer weather) and was advised that nothing is wrong with the car, but I found information that is pretty interesting and should be considered:

engine temperature: The engine may get close to overheating (and the gauge will read high) in hot weather requiring reprogramming the powertrain computer to run the cooling fan more often. http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/2002-to-2006-buick-rendezvous-6.htm

I will be following up with this with my car dealer. interesting that only occurs in warm weather. good luck.
