"Decent car, but window regulators going out all the time seriously turns me off"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Replaced 5 window regulators.

Odor from AC.

General comments?

Next time your window regulator goes out, I recommend buying one from a 3rd party vendor for approx. $100.00 (on the web) and having a glass shop install it for $75. I finally got wise to this on my 5th window, and saved $350 from the more than $500 dealer replacement cost. These 3rd party parts are better quality also.

I've had all 4 window regulators fail on my 2000 Buick Le Sabre. When the second one went, I contacted GM and as expected they would do nothing because the car was beyond the warranty. They are certainly aware of the problem and if they were smart they would replace the regulators at their cost instead of causing people to go to the dealers and pay $300 for a part that is worth no more than $50 (ex. dealer labor which is $200+ when local labor will do it for $75). I buy on-line at $50 (the mfr. is KAMCO, the Korean motor company that sells close to $500 million in motor parts to GM) and have installed for $75. My $125 fix versus the dealers $500 fix.

I just bought a 2000 Buick Le Sabre Limited from a car auction, it has hail damamge, but no other problems. This car is a dream. Its so comfy, and rides very nice. I don't really care about the problems with the windows, The automatic climate control quickly heats up or cools down the car. So who needs the windows. And I'm from Manitoba (In Canada) and its too cold for 8 months of the year to have the windows open anyways. I would recommend this car.
