Fan switch - apparently a very common problem.
Dash light - also a very common problem.
Driver's side door lock.
Side moulding just popped off one day.
Distributor cap went out at 97k miles.
Coolant distributor went out at 97k miles.
Cam sensor went out at 97k miles.
Cost of repairs at 97k miles was $3000!
Car has been great up until just recently when several things went bad and I got hit with a large repair bill.
Large trunk and fold down back seat fits a full drum kit. Seats are not very comfortable, foam filling is too soft. Has enough room to carry 3 passengers + driver.
Decent acceleration.
Not much range in the tilt steering. No glove box is definitely a bummer.
Not a great road trip car, but a great commuter car.
Factory stereo is not that great. Interior controls and design are not great. Side mirror controls are funky.
I just bought a 1994 Jetta GL... as soon as I bought it, going home with it.. the car suddenly shut down... and again...6 times!...nobody could figure it out!...you're driving along... then engine shut down!...twice it started by itself on the roll out to stopping... have you heard of this?...it's pretty nuts! I love the car! :-)
