Replaced four electric window regulators between 3700 and 4200 miles.
Replaced automatic transmission at 43000 miles.
Replaced intake gasket at 39000 miles.
Replaced blower motor at 41000 miles.
Replaced cloudy distorted headlamps at 41000 miles.
The car rides very comfortably.
However it is a major lemon in terms of mechanical and electrical failures.
Premature failure of transmission.
Multiple failures of the electric window regulators make this model a very expensive vehicle to upkeep.
Hmmm. Sounds familiar. Problems with my 2001 Impala:
Head gaskets done at 37000 miles.
Transmission rebuilt by dealership at 38000 miles.
49000 miles: WE NEED ANOTHER NEW TRANSMISSION!
After the first transmission rebuild, GM customer service offered to pay 50% of the bill (1400$). We are in the process of being negotiated upon for this next rebuild.
I need someone to explain to me how GM can do business like this!
Ditto here... Have a 2001 Chevy Impala. At 57,000 miles I needed a new transmission. 60,000 intake manifold gasket replaced... and now at 67,000 miles am told that I need a new engine. This being a 3.8L engine... oh yeah, the power steering fluid leaks in cold weather and the headlight has a leak or something so it's all fogged up. This car makes me mad!!!
