"Best Foreign Car I've ever Owned!!!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Everyone who has had a Maxima GLE is saying that there's is a 2000? Mine is a 2003 and it runs beautifully, Nissan recommends you put at least 93 octane in the gas tank and the dealers say just put 87. So I put 87 and the car just died on the highway and it was towed to the dealer whom told me that it died because that was the first time 87 octane was supposedly put in the engine... How would they know? They did a 100% threw the vehicle check on everything and said it was fine whatever I did... Quite Frankly they just don't know because It has yet to do such a thing again and runs like the day I bought it... Of course I continue putting in the high octane fuel that I can't Afford With my daily driving in it...

General comments?

I just recently purchased a black on black 2003 Maxima GLE and it is a great car. Lots of power, nice interior, and great drivability. I really only have two complaints (and they are personal, not Nissan's fault) ; first, the suspension on the GLE trim is a little soft for my liking and I find the car a little unpredictable under hard driving conditions. Second, the torque steer is pretty bad (255 hp to the front wheels will do that). This car would have been really nice with RWD set-up. If your looking for a luxury car without getting into the luxury class (Benz, Infiniti, BMW, etc.) then this is your car.

I own a 2003 Maxima and now has about 88,000 km. Always serviced at the Nissan dealer. My question is that after how long we need to change the struts on this car. Sometimes the ride is bumpy. Tires were replaced at 60,000 km with high performance tires. What can be the problem.

Otherwise Maxima has been a good car all these years. Other cars owned: Camry XLE V6. Toyota Matrix. VW Jetta, and other makes and models.
