Love how you can hit 80 k'ms in2nd gear and easily top 110 in the flick of a wrist does not suffer from turbo lag if you ever have owned a turbo you know how it is when the dual butterfly's open when throttle is maxed-out its music to my ears!!
Think the review not good. I owned one of these cars. put in 3 transmissions and 3 clutches at ford expense. shifting was notchy and very difficult to put into each gear. did build my muscles. car was very fast and had the best looking engine compartment I have ever seen. air conditioner compressor died at apx 60k mile. most expensive car ford had at the time. not worth the money and have never looked at a ford since.
Guess what happens when an old taurus rear-ends a Volvo 850 at 45MPH? The taurus's air bags went off, and the car is totaled and had to be towed. The Volvo has a bent tailpipe and some scratches. The Volvo is still being driven daily after many, many months...
I really don't get the point of the comment above, the Taurus is an extremely safe car.
