Interior lights do not come on automatically, but when you turn them on manually, they usually work.
Air conditioning breaks right after being fixed.
Plug near fuel line has broken twice, spraying gas all over.
Tie rod had to be replaced.
Tilt steering wheel doesn't really tilt.
Inner door (plastic piece) sags and door won't open.
Door gets caught behind front quarter panel when opening (has been fixed twice).
Speed cluster had to be replaced (speedometer went out)!
Console lights turn on at random for a few seconds.
Engine makes a weird noise (loud, then quiet, then loud, then quiet).
This car is a plastic piece of crap.
My 86 Camaro ran better than this, which is amazing since it's ten years newer!
I have spent over 1000 on this car in the last six months alone.
I am in the process of trading this in, because I don't want to throw my money into it anymore!
Where you live? I'll buy it for $200-$500. Neons are great little cars, but you can't expect them to be high in cars.
Oh, and the speedo problem, hate to tell you this, but it wasn't the cluster. Well it was. It was the pins that get the signal. They had bad solder on them from the factory. So all you need to do is take a soldering gun and solder them up (only on the ones you see with cracks forming). And its easy to take out. Just lift up on the top and then it's 4 screws holding the cluster in, and then just pull. And then its maybe 10-15 screws total holding the circuit board to the cluster. Take those off and pull (gently), and then on the other side you can see the pins. And then just solder them up and you're set.
